CANCELLED: Hybrid event "UPEACE as a bridge between Peace and Sustainability", March 10, 2022

Due to the horrific situation in Ukraine, UPEACE Centre The Hague and Nyenrode Business University have decided to cancel the hybrid event “UPEACE as a bridge between Peace and Sustainability” on March 10, 2022. We may plan this event later this year.

For now our thoughts are with the Ukraine people who suffer from the brutal invasion by Russia.

UPEACE is a special place. It was initiated by the United Nations in 1980 to educate young professionals in an interdisciplinary study of all matters relating to the spirit of understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence of all human beings. At present, UPEACE provides about a dozen master programs and attracts students and professors from all over the world. Still, the education is small-scale with often groups of about 20 students in a program.

The Netherlands have a special relationship with UPEACE, including a local representation: UPEACE Centre The Hague. Students from the Netherlands and other European countries who wish to follow a Masters in one of the many MA degrees at UPEACE Costa Rica, can get support from UPEACE Centre The Hague for their admission (The Hague does not itself provides courses to students). Moreover, interested students from Europe who apply for a Masters at UPEACE Costa Rica via UPEACE The Hague, may be eligible for a 30% reduction on their tuition fee.

In this event, you will learn more about the support that UPEACE The Hague can provide to help you prepare your study at UPEACE in Costa Rica. Furthermore, in this event you will meet the Dean of UPEACE Costa Rica Juan Carlos SAINZ-BORGO, former students who participated in the programs at UPEACE, and André NIJHOF, professor in Sustainable Business and Stewardship at Nyenrode Business Universiteit and visiting professor in the Responsible Management and Sustainable Economic Development program at UPEACE.
